Internship Opportunites

An update in the internship flier:

Internship opportunities:

Harry S. Truman Library and Museum
Independence, Missouri

The Harry S. Truman Library and Museum has agreed to take a FHSU student (preferably a history
major) for two internships a year, one during the summer and one during the fall. Both internships are
8 weeks and full time. This is an excellent opportunity to gain some valuable experience in museum and
archive work.

Summer Internship: application deadline March 1
The summer intern will split their time between archives and the museum.

Fall Internship: application deadline: April 1
The fall intern will work solely in the archive unless otherwise requested.

Application process:

Part 1: All applications will first be turned in to Dr. Perez, Chair or the Department of History. The part 1
application should include: the application, resume, and two personal references, one of which should
be from a professor. You may pick up a copy of the application from Dr. Perez OR follow the following
link for the application: http://www.trumanlibrary.org/voluntee/intern.htm. A department committee
will select one individual to forward to the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum.

Part 2: The person who is selected will need to provide the following to the Truman internship
coordinator: the application, resume, a writing sample (a college paper or lesson plan), college
transcripts, and two personal references, one of which should be from a professor. They will be asked
to participate in a formal interview with the staff at the Truman Library and Museum.

For more information please contact Dr. Perez in RH 344 or at kperez@fhsu.edu.
